Mexican Gothic

Oct 16, 2020 | Fiction Books

Gothic horror is not really my jam, but I couldn’t resist this beautiful cover. The booksellers at Malaprops Bookstore in Ashville, NC assured me it wasn’t super-scary, so I gave it a shot. (Try new things, right?!) The majority of the book is not terrifying, but a little suspenseful in anticipation of how and when things are gonna get real. When they do, it gets pretty dark and twisted. I won’t be running out for more creepy titles, but I had fun with this one. If spooky is your sweet spot Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia might be your next read.
